Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

The short version

True North helps you compare debt options and connects you with independent providers. We are not a lender or a Licensed Insolvency Trustee, we do not give legal or financial advice, and we cannot guarantee approval, savings, or any specific result. Use of the site means you accept these terms.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website operated by True North Debt Relief ("True North", "we", "us", or "our") and the information, tools, and services offered through it. Please read them carefully.

By accessing or using our website, or by submitting your information to us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. What True North does

True North is a Canadian matching service. We review the information you share and connect you with third-party providers, which may include licensed debt professionals, lenders, and non-profit credit counselling agencies. Those providers deliver any service you choose to pursue.

We are not a lender, and we are not a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Consumer Proposals and bankruptcy in Canada can only be administered by a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Where your situation calls for one, we refer you to a qualified, licensed professional. We do not assume your debts and do not make payments to your creditors.

2. Eligibility

To use our service you must be a resident of Canada and at least the age of majority in your province or territory. By using the site, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

3. Your consent to be contacted

When you submit your phone number or email, you agree that we and the providers we match you with may contact you by phone, text message, and email about your review and your options. Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of using our service. You can withdraw consent or opt out at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy. Standard message and data rates may apply.

4. No legal, tax, or financial advice

The content on this website and the information we share is general and for educational purposes only. It is not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your full situation. You should get professional advice before making decisions about your debt or credit.

5. Third-party providers

Providers in our network are independent. We do not control them, and listing or matching a provider is not an endorsement or a recommendation that a particular option is right for you. Any service you receive is governed by an agreement between you and that provider, under their own terms and disclosures. Review those documents carefully before you enroll or accept an offer. Any fees a provider charges will be disclosed by that provider before you agree to anything.

6. No guarantee of outcomes

We help you understand and compare options, but outcomes depend on your circumstances and on decisions made by providers and creditors. We do not guarantee that you will qualify for any program, that your debt will be reduced by any amount, that you will be approved for a loan, or that a result will be reached within any time frame. Any estimate of savings or timelines is based on historical data and is not a promise of future results.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate and complete information, to use the website lawfully, and to be responsible for the decisions you make. You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the website.
  • Submit false information or content that is harmful or fraudulent.

We may suspend or end your access if we believe these Terms are being broken.

8. Intellectual property

The content on this website, including text, logos, and images, belongs to True North or its licensors. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

9. The website is provided "as is"

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but laws change and errors happen. We provide the website on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that the content will always be accurate, complete, current, or free of errors. You use the website at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, True North is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, from any service provided by a third-party provider, or from any decision you make based on information you receive through us.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold True North harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the website or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario.
